Introducing FamRite 1.0 – livestock management for African farmers https://uwj.xtn.mybluehost.me/2026/07/10/famrite-1-0-launches/ Fri, 10 Jul 2026 00:00:00 +0000 https://uwj.xtn.mybluehost.me/?p=1052 Today we’re launching FamRite 1.0 on the App Store and Google Play. FamRite is a mobile-first livestock management app built for the way African farmers actually work – poor signal, cash-based expenses, and real animals that need daily attention.

What’s in the app

Every plan includes the mobile app, offline sync, and access to AgroChat. Here’s what you can do from day one:

  • Animal records – add each animal by species, breed, age and notes. Photos supported.
  • Expenses and income in GH₵ – log feed, drugs, vet visits and sales. See profit per batch, not just a running total.
  • Marketplace – list animals to buyers across Africa. You deal with the buyer directly – we don’t hold payments and we don’t take a commission.
  • AgroChat – topic rooms for poultry, cattle, goats, ask-a-vet and market prices. Community posts are reviewed by the FamRite team.
  • Health records (Premium and Enterprise) – vaccination schedules, treatment logs and reminders.

Pricing in Ghana cedis

Basic is free forever – up to 30 animals, Marketplace, and AgroChat. Premium is GH₵ 80/month for up to 500 animals with breeding cycles and health records. Enterprise is GH₵ 150/month for unlimited animals, team accounts and cooperative-scale reporting.

Built for Africa

FamRite was born in Ghana and is actively rolling out to Nigeria 🇳🇬, Kenya 🇰🇪 and South Africa 🇿🇦. Anyone on the continent can sign up today. If you’re farming livestock, we built this for you.

Why we built FamRite in Ghana https://uwj.xtn.mybluehost.me/2026/07/08/why-we-built-famrite/ Wed, 08 Jul 2026 00:00:00 +0000 https://uwj.xtn.mybluehost.me/?p=1054 The farmers we grew up around keep meticulous records – just not on paper. They know which hen went off lay, which goat kidded last, which buyer paid late. That knowledge lives in their heads and in one battered notebook per farm.

When that notebook gets wet, or the son who kept the numbers moves to Accra, the farm loses years of context. We watched it happen more than once.

What we set out to build

We wanted a tool that felt more like the notebook and less like enterprise software:

  • Works offline first. Signal is a bonus, not a requirement.
  • Ghana cedis by default. No dollar-denominated finance that has to be re-translated.
  • Straightforward records – animals, expenses, income, health – not a 30-tab spreadsheet.
  • A place to ask real questions of real farmers, which became AgroChat.

Why direct dealing on the Marketplace

We deliberately don’t hold payments and don’t take commission on Marketplace sales. Farmers already know how to close a deal – what they needed was reach beyond their village. FamRite gives them that reach and then gets out of the way.

We’re a Ghana-based team at SUPPATRADE and we’re building this for the long haul. Thanks for trying it – tell us what’s broken and what’s missing at support@uwj.xtn.mybluehost.me.

Marketplace and AgroChat – selling and talking to farmers, directly https://uwj.xtn.mybluehost.me/2026/07/05/marketplace-and-agrochat/ Sun, 05 Jul 2026 00:00:00 +0000 https://uwj.xtn.mybluehost.me/?p=1053 Two features inside FamRite exist because farmers kept asking for them: a real Marketplace and a real place to talk. Here’s how both work.

Marketplace – list an animal in under a minute

Open the app, tap List an animal, pick species and breed, add a photo, set your price in GH₵, and publish. Buyers across Africa search by species, region and price. When someone’s interested they contact you directly through the app – no middleman, no escrow, no commission.

Enterprise farms can list health records against an animal so buyers can see vaccination history at a glance.

AgroChat – rooms, not group chats

AgroChat splits conversation into topic rooms – #poultry, #cattle, #goats, #ask-a-vet, #market-prices. That’s the whole difference. Instead of one thousand-message WhatsApp group where the useful post disappears in five minutes, you go to the room for the question you have.

Community posts are reviewed by the FamRite team and you can report any post directly from the feed. Verified vets answer questions in #ask-a-vet.

Why we don’t take a Marketplace cut

Because the app has to be worth paying for on its own. We charge for Premium and Enterprise (GH₵ 80 and GH₵ 150 per month) – the Marketplace stays free so listings actually get posted. Read more in our FAQ.
